Coleen W. Dorris, age 91, of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Tennova Healthcare. 

Coleen was born August 9, 1925, in Memphis, TN, to the late William Clarence Wall and Arrah Mary Coopwood Wall. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carey Winstead Dorris. 

Coleen retired after over 30 years of teaching at Clarksville High School, where she taught Home Economics. She was a member of First Christian Church, in Guthrie, KY and of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Retired Teachers' Association, of which she was president from 1982 until 1984. She was Middle Tennessee President of the Retired Teachers' Association from 1995 until 1996, and she was State President of the Retired Teachers' Association in 2001.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, June 16, at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. Dann Masden officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, June 15, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and Friday, June 16, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Coleen Dorris Scholarship Fund, c/o Karen Pendergrass, 387 Augusta Place, Clarksville, TN 37043.
