Robert Clinton VanDerhoef, age 78, of Clarksville, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 26, 2017, at the VA Medical Center, in Nashville.
Robert was born December 28, 1938, in Spokane, WA, to the late Lee VanDerhoef and Claire Tallman VanDerhoef.
Mr. VanDerhoef was a graduate of Austin Peay State University. He was a decorated US Army veteran, having served for over 30 years, including two tours in Vietnam and a tour in Desert Storm. Robert was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the NRA.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, March 31, at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Arthur Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, in Hopkinsville. Visitation will be Friday, March 31, from 9:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
Robert is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Hoesch VanDerhoef; two daughters, Kimberly Weyrauch and Carrie Roseberry; sister, Joan Israel; four grandchildren, Brittany (Tim) Benson, Sierra Dunne, Gabrielle Weyrauch, and Lauren Roseberry; and four great grandchildren, Raelyn, Adeline, Clinton, and Braxton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington, KY 40502; or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
