Barbara Jean (Smith) Pyatte

Barbara Jean Pyatte, age 82, of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at her residence. 

Barbara was born November 6, 1936, in Bristol, TN, to the late Paul Henry Smith and Ada Bowers Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Pyatte; and three brothers, Jimmy T. Smith, Billy Smith, and Luke Smith. 

Barbara had the heart of 1,000 mothers and graced life with her strength and love of family. She was always the "teller of her own tale," and encouraged strength and independence to her family, insisting this become her legacy. Her "bus" has arrived. She took a walk down that white path to peace and loved ones waiting.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, December 18, at 1:30 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. David Mackens officiating. Barbara will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, December 17, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and Tuesday, December 18, from 12:30 PM until the time of service, at the funeral home. 

Barbara is celebrated by her living monuments, son, Jason W. Pyatte of Clarksville; daughter, Donna (Ramon) Navarro of Prince George, VA; three sisters, Mary Ellen Bowers, Patty Borja, and Joy Walsh, all of Bristol, TN; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. 

Pallbearers will be Jason W. Pyatte, Richie James, Nicholas James, Ronnie Shepard, Justin Shepard, Joseph Holden, and Ryan Loeffler.
