Betty Abernathy

Betty Abernathy, age 89 of Clarksville, TN passed away Tuesday, June 21 ,2022 at her residence.

Betty was born September 23, 1932 in Montgomery County, TN. The daughter of the late John J. and Bessie Rollins Gunnells.  She was preceded by, two brother, James Gunnells and Bob Gunnells, and one sister, Virginia Allen.

Survivors include, her two sons, John Abernathy (Dana) and Andy Abernathy (Jenny); five grandchildren, Beth Abernathy, JoEllen Abernathy, Heather Raymer (Derrick), Robin Angell (Pete) and Michael Abernathy; three great grandchildren, Devin Raymer, Grace Angell and Tripp Angell.

Mrs. Abernathy was retired from Fort Campbell were she was a comptroller.  She also was a faithful member of the First Nazarene Church.

A celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Lannom officiating with burial to follow in Sango Cemetery.  Visitation will be 4-7 PM Friday, June 24, 2022 at the funeral home.
