Billy Joe Black

CLARKSVILLE – Billy Joe Black, age 78, of Clarksville, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023, at his home. Billy was born February 12, 1945, in Clarksville to the late Joe Monroe Black and Jamie Heflin Black. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his daughter, Billie Jane “Sissy” Black and grandson Xavion Bell. Survivors include his loving wife of sixty years, Tandy Appleton Black; a son, Glendon Monroe (Amie) Black; daughter, Sheryl Anne Appleton-Black; brothers, Charles W. Black, Danny R. (Barbara) Black and Gene (Laura) Black; sister, Mary (Pat) Rose; grandchildren, Tandy Nicole Lynch (Walt Merriweather), Kara (Daniel) Zahn, Candace (Reed) Harper, Jerad (Erin) Morgan, Rae Anne Black (Clay Reynolds) and great-grandchildren, Xavier Bell, Cali Zahn, Kaylee Zahn, Emory Zahn, Mary Kate Zahn and Conner Morgan. Billy was known as “The King of Commodities” and was the owner of Queen City Motorcycle. He was a member of the Glen Cycle Racing Team, a founding member of the HillBilly Motorcycle Club, a member and past president of the Conservation Club and member of the Western Kentucky Competition Racing Association. He was of the Baptist Faith and loved his wife, family and friends and his chocolate lab, Lucky.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, March 27, 2023 in the Chapel of Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Lannom officiating.  Pallbearers will be Jerad Morgan, Daniel Zahn, Reed Harper, Clay Reynolds, Matthew Moore and Dale Dexter.  Honorary pallbearers will be Horace Heggie, Brett Appleton, Herb Ellis, Norris Heggie and Eddie Dean Weatherford. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 1:00-4:00 pm Sunday, March 26, 2023 and also on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home; 1510 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN, 37040; (931) 647-6488.
