Darthy Pelham (Denton) Comstock

Darthy Pelham Comstock, 86, of Clarksville, formerly of Chapel Hill, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, surrounded by her children.

Darthy was born on August 3, 1931, in Livingston, TN to the late Cordell Denton and Clara Denton. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Conley Baxter Pelham and her second husband, Gordon Comstock.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 19, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Darthy was a retired Librarian and Teacher at Clarksville High School and Marshall Elementary. She was previously a member of Chapel Hill Church of Christ and a current member of Hilldale Church of Christ. She was a member of a book club and was an avid reader. Darthy was also an avid bridge player.

Darthy is survived by her son, James Pelham; two daughters, Debbie (Graf) Hilgenhurst and Kim (Darrell) Melton; sister, Martha Winton; and six grandchildren, Hadley Hilgenhurst, Callie Hilgenhurst, Mason Melton, Denton Melton, Sara Pelham, and Jonathan Pelham.

Pallbearers will be Mason Melton, Denton Melton, Jonathan Pelham, Graf Hilgenhurst, and Darrell Melton.
