Deborah (Carlisle) Jenkins

October 27, 1957 ~ December 11, 2018 (age 61) 61 Years Old

Tribute

Deborah Carlisle Jenkins, age 61, of Clarksville, TN, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Skyline Medical Center.

Debbie was born October 27, 1957, in Harrison Township, MI, to Richard Chester Carlisle and the late Joy Rachel Shewmaker Carlisle.

In addition to her father, Debbie is survived by her husband of 36 years, Lacy "Hall" Jenkins; daughter, Lacy (Richard) Squires of St. Louis Park, MN; brother, Richard Carlisle; two sisters, Rita (Richard) Casazza of Laurel, MD and Cynthia Kayyod of Bloomfield, MI.

Debbie will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery, at a private graveside service.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was a retired, 33-year Civil Servant with the Mission and Installation Contracting Command at Fort Campbell, KY.

Debbie was a loving, kind, generous, intelligent woman, with a genteel nature and steadfast devotion to family, friends, and her God. She cherished and treasured her family above all things.

Debbie was a caring, self-reflective professional, goal oriented, talented, successful, and courageous. She was mild and meek, yet fearlessly brave and tenaciously strong. She found beauty and value in the simplest of things. She was humble and accepted people for who they are, without airs and with genuine interest and concern. Mrs. Jenkins was a religious Christian, who found comfort in the words of Jesus, marking passages in her Bible, from the gospel according to St. Matthew and Psalms of David 27:4.

Debbie dealt with adversity in her life. She confronted cancer with all of its horrors and also prior with depression and the loss of her mother. And yet, through this all, Debbie was not bittered. She remained warm, cheerful, and caring. She focused on her family and her love and devotion.

She was an avid collector. She loved art, music, and fashion. No collection too small, everything had value. From clothing buttons to refined works of art, she found inspiration in all. Her most cherished of works was the creation of her daughter, and she found continuous joy in and through her Lacy Carlisle Squires. Her legacy lives on.

Her word was her bond. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have truly known her. Debbie was unique and wonderful, and her family will always love and cherish her, in how she touched their lives.
