Dempsey B. Heggie

Dempsey B. Heggie, age 79, of Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at Tennova Healthcare.

Dempsey was born June 15, 1941, in Clarksville, TN, to the late Paul Heggie and Pauline Sanders Heggie. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Faye Heggie; one son, Jeffrey Heggie; and one brother, Lewis Heggie.

He was known for waving at everyone.

A Celebration of Dempsey's Life will be held Wednesday, August 5, at 1:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Chris Middleton officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 5, from 11:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.

Dempsey is survived by one son, Bobby Dean (Kim) Heggie; daughter, Roberta Heggie; two brothers, Norris Heggie and Horace Heggie; two sisters, Nancy (Kim) Smith and Shirley Heggie of Gallatin; five grandchildren, Erin (Brock) Davis, Michael Hamilton, Wyatt (Brittany) Hamilton, Nicholas Heggie, and Craig Heggie; and two great grandchildren, Olivia Davis and Landon Hamilton.

Pallbearers will be James Chapman, Wyatt Hamilton, Nicholas Heggie, Jeremy Bolin, Jeremy Crabtree, Shawn Lamison, Scott Carpenter, and Jeffrey Abbott.
