Dr. Bill D. Feltner, age 87 of Clarksville passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Tennova Healthcare.

Bill was born on December 25, 1933 in Trigg County, KY to the late Ben Feltner and Nannie Shelton Feltner. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by brothers: Cecil Feltner, Graham Feltner, Edison Feltner, Marshall Feltner; sisters: Mary Scholar and Irene Moore. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Puckett Feltner; son, Rodney (Allison) Feltner; daughter, Debi Feltner (Paul) Petrisko; brother, Clinton Eugene Feltner; sister, Dollye F. Clayton; grandchildren: Kacie (Randall) Jackson, Kara (Coleman) Huskey, Hannah Feltner, Abby Feltner; great grandchildren: John Henry Jackson and George Livingston Jackson.

Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran and an educator. He grew up on a farm and had a “Green thumb” that lasted his lifetime.  He attended Austin Peay State College and received his PHD in Education from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Bill started his career in the Knox County School System as Principal at Bearden Elementary School.  Dr. Feltner went on to teach at Rutgers University and spent 25 years as a Professor at the University of Georgia before continuing his career consulting as a facilitator for small college accreditation.  He loved his Tennessee Volunteers.  

Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
