Edwin "Piggy" W. Smith

Edwin "Piggy" W. Smith, 95, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Tennova Healthcare of Clarksville.

Piggy was born on October 23, 1923, in Montgomery County, TN to the late O.W. Smith and Pearl Yarbrough Smith. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Hall Smith and three brothers, Warren Smith, W.H. Smith, and Victor Smith.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Dr. Roger Freeman and Rev. Cal Hampton officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, December 19, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Piggy retired after 50 years with Riley Hardware. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and member of First Baptist Church of Clarksville for 63 years. He was an avid gardener and loved to give produce to his friends.

Piggy is survived by his son, Bobby (Susan) Smith of Palmyra, TN; granddaughter, Carla Smith; and brother, James Smith of Clarksville, TN.

Pallbearers will be Frank Miller, James Manning, Kenny Smith, Kerry Smith, Johnny Piper, and Jim Amos. Honorary pallbearers will be Evans Harvill, Dotson Guinn, Teddy McCain, Edmond Terrell, Bennie Deffandall, and Mark Miller.
