Frances Tellefsen

September 23, 1927 ~ March 22, 2018 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Tribute

Fran’s journey began in New Jersey, born to a loving Norwegian mother and father. Sadly, she lost her father when she was only 3, and times were often very lean, but there was never a shortage of love and laughter growing up. Her mother always made sure she knew the love of her Heavenly Father. Fran began her professional life while still a teenager, and married at the age of 19. She continued her professional career in both the medical field and in the insurance world, working directly with top CEOs.

Fran started singing in church at the age of three, and was active in many choirs and singing groups throughout her life. She loved to travel and had a thirst for knowledge. Learning about other countries and other cultures expanded her knowledge, which she loved to share. She was a huge believer in the value of education, and immensely proud that both of her daughters became college educators. All through her life, she was always open to new ideas, new experiences, and new friends.  She moved with her family to Tennessee in her later years, but she soon made several friends that she remained close to the rest of her life. She had many interests and hobbies but her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. She leaves behind two daughters, Diana Tellefsen and Lois Tellefsen Jones, two grandchildren, Morgan Jones and Nicholas Jones who brought her the most joy, and a niece, Elsa Strong.

Fran had a life well lived. She was loved by friends and family, and was known to all as an encourager. Her love and support for her family had no bounds. She had a ready smile for everyone and was always able to see the positive side of things. When you were in her presence you left feeling better than when you arrived. Fran’s journey ended on March 22.  She arrived safely home to her Father’s waiting arms.
