Gene Forehand

Gene Forehand, age 70, of Clarksville, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018, at his residence. 

Gene was born March 18, 1948, in Davidson County, TN, to the late Eugene Marshall Forehand and Inez Parker Forehand. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Richard Forehand. 

Mr. Forehand was a graduate of David Lipscomb University and a member of Hilldale Church of Christ. Gene was a retired teacher from the Metro Nashville School System. He also preached at several churches in Tennessee and Alabama. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, June 14, at 11:00 AM, at Hilldale Church of Christ, with Bro. Steve Kirby officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 13, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, and Thursday, June 14, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service, at the church. 

Gene is survived by his wife, Jerri Halliday; son, David Matthew Forehand, of Nashville; two daughters, Christy Hannah Forehand and Susan Ruth Sherman, both of Nashville; stepson, Chad (Katie) Halliday; one brother, Wayne Forehand of Goodlettsville, TN; two grandchildren, Emily Tanley and Zoey Sherman; and the mother of his children, Marsha Forehand. 

Pallbearers will be Bobby Powell, Chad Halliday, Pat Sawyer, Jerome Bell, Henry Rittenberry, and Jimmy Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Forehand and Matt Sherman. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clarksville Christian School, 505 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Clarksville, TN 37043.
