George Owen Kay, age 91, of Clarksville, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Tennessee State Veterans Home.

George was born October 8, 1925, in Hartwell, GA, to the late George Henry Kay and Annie Ruth Craft Kay.

George was a retired US Army veteran, having served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He was later a self-employed painter and a member of Northeast Baptist Church.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, April 13, at 6:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Bro. Melvin Felts officiating. Visitaton will be Thursday, April 13, from 3:00 PM until the hour of service, at the funeral home. Committal service will be Friday, April 14, at 10:00 AM, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, in Hopkinsville, where full military honors will be rendered.

George is survived by his wife, Sue Reno Kay; three sons, Kenneth (Michelle) Kay of Tupelo, MS,  Jeffrey (Beverly) Kay of Des Moines, IA, and Robert (Rhonda) Kay of Clarksville; daughter, Debbie Kay of Lafayette, LA; sister, Frances Cheek of Hartwell, GA; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
