Gerald "Jerry" Lynn Wayman

Gerald Lynn Wayman, age 74, of Cumberland Heights, joined his heavenly family on November 15, 2023. He was born August 30, 1949, in Knoxville, TN; Jerry, Abba, Ralph, and Big Guy as known by family and friends, was loved by all and will be missed dearly.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Kathleen Wayman. He leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Carolyn, and one spoiled dog, Bella, three sisters; Carol Simpson and Susan Blair of Knoxville, TN, and Kathy Kinser of Washburn, TN, along with five nephews and five nieces.

Mr. Wayman was a retired Army veteran of 23 years. He served several tours as a medic in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Purple Heart among other prestigious awards. He was an active member of many veteran organizations in the Clarksville area, Screaming Eagles Chapter 457, and an Al Menah Shriner. He loved his country and his Tennessee Vols.

A memorial service will be held at Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be Monday, November 20, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery with full military honors.
