Heyward Lewis Rourk Sr., 86, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at his residence.
Heyward was born on November 17, 1932, in Santee, SC to the late James Hubert Rourk, Sr. and Sophia A. Dukes Rourk. He was also preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Joyce Patricia Rourk; his second wife, Barbara Rourk; one daughter, Linda Carol Rourk; eleven siblings; and one great grandchild.
In keeping with Heyward's wishes, no services are planned.
Heyward was a retired U.S. Army Veteran. During his military career, Heyward served three tours in Vietnam, was an Airborne Ranger and Special Forces Soldier, and received several awards to include the Purple Heart, Bronze Star with Valor, and the Air Medal. After retirement, Heyward worked in local law enforcement and security at Austin Peay State University.
Heyward is survived by three children, Heyward Lewis (Katharine) Rourk Jr., Lorraine "Joy" (Randell) Suiter, and Kenneth Michael (Claudia) Rourk Sr.; two sisters, Vivian Alma Smith and Mildred Zeigler; four grandchildren, Samuel Suiter, Joshua Suiter, Lindsey Clements, and Kenneth Rourk Jr.; seven great grandchildren; very close companion, Dot Brown; and five step-children.
