Jack Wayne Blackard

Jack Wayne Blackard, age 73, of Clarksville, entered Heaven on Friday, April 23, 2021.

Jack was born March 28, 1948, in Clarksville, TN, to the late Doris and Francis Blackard. He was also preceded in death by his aunt and uncle, Gladys Blackard Chester and Pastor Milburn Chester, who reared him since he was seven years-old; two brothers, Jerry Blackard and Glen Blackard; and two sisters, June Montgomery and Ann Long.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Beverly Brown Blackard of Clarksville; son, Kevin (Emily) Monroe of Bethpage, TN; niece, Jamie Ponder of Clarksville; two nephews, Steve (Becky) Blackard of Ft. Worth, TX and Darrell (Mindy) Blackard of Clarksville, TN; and sister-in-law, Gayle Blackard of Clarksville, TN.

Jack owned Clarksville Exterminating Company for 29 years. He was a lifelong resident of Sango. Mr. Blackard was a very dedicated member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church and the Cabin Cruisers Sunday School Class. He enjoyed spending time with family, playing pool, and fishing.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held Tuesday, April 27, at 2:00 PM, at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, with Pastor John Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Little Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, April 26, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, and Tuesday, April 27, from 1:00 PM until the hour of service, at the church.

Pallbearers will be Tom Claybaugh, Ronnie Fielder, Marty Hogan, Steve Blackard, John Richardson, and Clete Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Cabin Cruisers Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, 2204 Jarrell Ridge Road, Clarksville, TN 37043, for Missions or FUEL Ministries. Jack was honored to be responsible for taking FUEL bags (food) to underprivileged children for weekends and holidays at West Cheatham Elementary School.
