John Marsh Arrington

John Marsh Arrington died of cancer on April 26, 2021, at home in Clarksville, Tennessee. John was born September 18, 1943 in Clarksville, the son of the late John Kearney Arrington and the late Mary White Arrington; stepson of the late Mamie Jean Harper Arrington.

John graduated from Clarksville High School in 1961 and attended Austin Peay State University. He served in the United States Army from 1963-1965. A realtor for forty-eight years, he owned Arrington and Associates Realty Company since 2009.

John was a kind and generous man, especially compassionate to anyone in need. He loved his family and was loved by them. A great cook, he enjoyed preparing wonderful barbecues and baked goods which he generously shared with family and friends. He watched over the wildlife near his home and provided food for them each day. Always open to new experiences, John delighted in exploring interesting places and often expressed wonder that he found in nature.

John is survived by his beloved companion of forty-one years, Kay Cristina, and Kay’s daughters Mary Cristina Stewart and husband Rick Stewart, Nancy Cristina Smith and husband Mike Smith; brothers, William W. Arrington, Joseph K. Arrington, Timothy B. Arrington and wife Suella D. Arrington; sister, Jane Arrington; step-sister, Brenda Harper; nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for John will be held Saturday, May 1, at 11:00 a.m., at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, 1510 Madison Street, Clarksville. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery will follow the service.
