John Paul Richardson

CSM (Ret.) John Paul Richardson, age 93, of Clarksville passed away peacefully Sunday, December 4, 2022, at his residence.

John Paul was born May 17, 1929 in Maydon, NC to the late Jessie M. Richardson and Addie Gann Richardson. John is also preceded in death by his four brothers, three sisters, and granddaughter, Heather Wolford.

John is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, R. Wenoka Richardson; son, John L. Richardson; daughters, Lyndia Diane Wolford (Rick) and Tracy Denise Richardson; sister, Shirley Dean Bottoms; grandchildren, Johanna Wolford-Dortch and John Thomas Richardson; great grandchildren, Brianna Wolford and Hunter Dortch.

John is a career military veteran, initially serving in the U.S. Navy enlisting with the permission of his Mother at the age of 15.  John transitioned from the Navy into the U.S. Army where he served honorably until his retirement as a Command Sergeant Major. John was a proud member of the Masons and also a valued member of Hilldale United Methodist Church.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Sauls. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 7, 2022 from 12:00 until the hour of service. Pallbearers will be: John L. Richardson, John T. Richardson, Rick Wolford, Cain Dortch, Diane Wolford and Johanna Wolford Dortch.
