John "Phil" Phillip Smith

John Phillip Smith, 58, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at his residence.

Phil was born on March 2, 1960, in Clarksville, TN to the late Byron Davis Smith and Nannie Stanley Steely. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Margaret S. Smith and two brothers, Roger Davis Smith and Dalton Wayne Smith.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Mark Riggins officiating. Burial will be at Sango Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Phil was a Retired Heavy Equipment Operator for Clarksville Gas and Water.

Phil is survived by his wife, Lou Crutcher Smith; step-father, James Steely; step-son, Adam Crutcher; three brothers, Stevie Lewis Smith, Timothy Lee Smith, and Terry Joe Smith (Shari Skaggs); sister-in-law, Jan Sutton Smith; and numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Clarksville Gas and Water Employees.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203.
