Larry Sanders Martin

Larry Sanders Martin, 80, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at his residence.

Larry was born on January 9, 1938, in White Bluff, TN to the late Sam Martin and Christine Sanders Layman. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Earnest Layman. 

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Hilldale United Methodist Church with Rev. B.J. Brack, Cathy Bearden, and Rev. Laurie Hynson officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home and Tuesday, July 24, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Larry was an Office Manager at Universal Fitness. He was a member of Hilldale United Methodist Church, where he was an organist for 30 years. He was an Editor for Tower Literally at Austin Peay State University Annual Publishing. He was a graduate from Army Language School. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran, professional artist, and musician.

Larry, a loving husband, is survived by his wife, Kay Ditmore Martin of Clarksville, TN; son, Dan Maddox of Dallas, TX; and daughter, Lisa Maddox-Vinson (Daren) of Dover, TN.

Pallbearers will be Daren Vinson, Brad Cooper, Ford Cooper, Brady Cooper, Chad Cooper, and Charles Ditmore. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry's Bridge Groups.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hilldale United Methodist Church Music Ministry, 1751 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37043.
