Mary Evelyn Fain, 85, of Palmyra, TN, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at her residence.
Evelyn was born on April 16, 1933, in Stewart County, TN to the late Alfred Atkins and Bessie Lehman Atkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Lewis Fain; infant son, Raymond Patrick Fain; six brothers, Talmedge Atkins, Buford Atkins, Bishop Atkins, Archie Atkins, Frank Atkins, and Earl Atkins; two sisters, Ruth Shelby and Christine Pitts; and granddaughter, Tracy Fain Phillips.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Michael Raines officiating. Burial will be at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, August 14, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Evelyn was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Evelyn is survived by three sons, Jimmy (Janet) Fain, Keith (Christine) Fain, and Terry (Candy) Fain; daughter, Penny (Donald) Luffman; brother, Doris Atkins; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robert Harris, David Atkins, Dean Fain, Skip Winters, Clyde Karnes, T.J. Fain, Jason Riggins, and Mike Rose.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 252 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
