Megan Elizabeth Peterson

Megan Elizabeth Peterson, age 26, died Wednesday, May 5, 2021.  She was born April 11, 1995 to Steve and Denise Batten.  Megan married Matthew Peterson on January 24, 2017 and to this union they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Melody Ann, the joy of her mother’s heart.  Matthew was so proud of his two girls, as he affectionally called them. 

Megan truly lived her life to her own beat; her creative nature being seen in anything she took part.  She lived life through simple pleasures;  her passion for butterflies and the color purple, loving and advocating for the well- being of all animals, taking long naps, staring at bon fires, she loved AVATAR- the LAST AIR BENDER, but most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. 

She leaves to cherish fond memories:  her devoted husband, Matthew, an adoring daughter, Melody Ann of Athens, AL; her parents, Steve and Denise Batten, of Clarksville, TN; one sister, Jessica Watson of Clarksville, TN; two nieces, Eden-Love Watson and Aeris Watson; grandparents, Bill and Gaye Thomsen of Springfield, TN, Penny Scroggins, of Clarksville, TN, and Harry Batten of Clarksville, TN, mother-in-law, Kathy Frye Peterson of Cameron, NC; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Timothy and Audrey Peterson of Madison, AL; sister-in-law, Brandi J. Peterson of Atlanta, GA; brother-in-law, Zachary Peterson of Wilmington, NC; grandmothers, Annie Lou Frye of Cameron, NC and Ruby Smith of Birmingham, AL; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and others whose lives she touched.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, May 8, at 1:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Shelton officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, May 8, from 11:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
