Peggy D. Slayton

Peggy D. Slayton, age 78, of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019, at her residence. 

Peggy was born April 5, 1940, in Adamsville, TN, to the late Robert G. Harris and Edith Bailey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Slayton; son, Rickey Slayton; four brothers, Bill Harris, Robert Harris, Lonnie Harris, and Doug Harris; and three sisters, Lavern Hollis, Christine Simmons, and Lorraine Linton. 

Mrs. Slayton was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, February 25, at 1:00 PM, at Hilldale Baptist Church, with Dr. Larry Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, February 24, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, and Monday, February 25, from 11:00 AM until the hour of service, at the church. 

Peggy is survived by one son, Randy (Vicky) Slayton of Cunningham, TN; daughter, Kimberly (Bobby) Conner of Cunningham, TN; one sister, Patricia Irwin of Nashville, TN; four grandchildren, Jeremey Slayton, Kasie Whittier, Brittnye Cilk, and Kayla Knight; and seven great grandchildren, Hunter, Kaleb, Axel, Lucas, Journie, Baylee, and Blake. 

Pallbearers will be Randy Slayton, Donald Hollis, Bobby Conner, D.J. Whittier, Kendale Cilk, and J.R. Knight. Honorary pallbearers will be Peggy's nephews.
