Randy Lee Petersen

Randy Lee Petersen, 64, died Monday, March 29, 2021, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after an extended illness.

Services will be at Thursday, April 1, at 1:00 PM, at the chapel of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Eric Fowlkes officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday, March 31, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home.

Randy was born December 15, 1956, in Austin, Indiana, to the late Victor V. Petersen, Jr. and Ruth Bowling Petersen.  He had been an employee of the City of Clarksville Street Department since 1987.

Randy was a large man, both in size and – more importantly – in spirit.  He was an adoring husband to his wife, Bird, and a source of love, fun and amusement to his two grandchildren.  He was known to others by a number of nicknames, some of which should not be placed in print.  He enjoyed spending time with family, the outdoors, grilling, sports, and quiet service to others.
He is survived by his wife, Bird; stepsons, Joel (Emily) Wallace and Troy Wallace; brothers, Chris Petersen and Eddie (Hope) Petersen; grandsons, Clark Wallace and Sadler Wallace, all of Clarksville; and two nieces and a nephew.

Pallbearers will be David Shepard, Scott Bibb, John Goodlett, Danny Deffendoll, Jereme Miner, Jim Scott, Eddie Petersen, and Jeff Bateman.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either the Dream Factory, Post Office Box 3522, Clarksville, TN 37043; or the Imagination Library of Montgomery County, 350 Pageant Lane, Suite 501, Clarksville, TN 37040.
