Richard Paul Herring, age 80, of Clarksville, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Tennova Healthcare. 

Richard was born April 21, 1937, in Bristol, VT, to the late Lucius Herring and Mabel Carpenter Herring. He was also preceded in death by one son, Robert Herring; and several siblings. 

Mr. Herring was a retired US Navy veteran.  He also retired as an LPN and EMT.  Richard was in the Fleet Reserve and was a member of Hilldale United Methodist Church. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, November 14, at 11:00 AM, at Hilldale United Methodist Church, with Rev. B.J. Brack officiating. 

Richard is survived by his wife, his angel, Lucy Herring; two sons, Roland Herring, Richard "Sky" Herring; three daughters, Roberta Kulz, Rowena Eicher, and Lora Snyder; sister, Betty Guiheen; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hilldale United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 3874, Clarksville, TN 37043.
