Royce Hawkins Jr.

Royce Hawkins Jr., age 90, of Clarksville, TN, went to be with Jesus Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at his residence. Royce was born August 5, 1931, in Woodlawn, TN, to the late Royce Hawkins and Eula Mae Chester Hawkins.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lauren and Gordon Hawkins; two sisters, Frances Smith and Kathryn Sleigh and a great-grandson, Baker Blaine Bryant.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rita Ezell Hawkins; daughter, Rhonda (Todd) Herndon, sons Ryan Hawkins, Rex (Kendra) Hawkins and Rod (Lisa) Hawkins and Gary (Amy) Austin; eight grandchildren, Morgan (Corey) Glascock, Paige (Jacob) Bryant, Leah Herndon, Kourtnee (Bradley) Taylor, Madison Hawkins, Greyson Hawkins, Drew Hawkins, Ava Hawkins; and four great-grandchildren, Campbell Glascock, Eilee Glascock, Bradlynn Taylor and Batson Taylor. Royce was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, trustee and Sunday school teacher. He also served on numerous committees of the church. Royce was retired from AT&T after a 38 year career.

Pallbearers will be his children and grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, July 29, at 11:00 AM, at Hilldale Baptist Church, with Rev. Larry Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Big Rock Cemetery in Big Rock, TN. Visitation will be Thursday, July 28, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home and Friday, July 29 from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at Hilldale Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Rock Cemetery, 270 Big Rock Road, Big Rock, TN 37023.
