Sally "Birdie" (Smith) Richardson

Sally "Birdie" Richardson, 99, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Tennova Healthcare of Clarksville.

Sally was born on December 17, 1918, in Dover, TN to the late James Bellfield Smith and Arcadia Curtis Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tandy Richardson; son, Darek Nicholaus Richardson; brothers, Elbert Smith, James Smith, Walter Smith, and Robert Smith; and sisters, Virgie S. Shemwell and Martha Johnson.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Willie Lyle officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and Friday, March 16, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Sally was a retired Secretary for Richardson and Richardson Construction and the Odd Fellows Association. She was a Civil Service Aircraft Inspector during WWII. She was a member of the Odd Fellows and Sango United Methodist Church.

Sally is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Gene) Downing of Clarksville, TN; grandson, Darek N. (Kelly) Downing; and two great grandchildren, Nicholaus Downing and Megan Downing.

Pallbearers will be Larry Roberts, Andy Stanley, Ed Hinkle, Bobby Mills, Jack Roberts, Patrick Anthony, and Larry Richardson.
