Thomas Earnest Robinson, 74 , of Clarksville Tennessee passed away November 9, 2023. Thomas was born in Evensville, TN
Thomas was a 1967 graduate of Rhea County Central High School. In 1968 he joined the US Navy, where he served aboard the USS Dyess, DD-880 before entering the Naval Nuclear Power program.
After the navy, Thomas spent three years in Mt. Pleasant, SC working on various shrimping boats.
Tom then worked for 22 years in the commercial nuclear industry with stops at Sequoyah, Bellefonte, Watts Bar, Kewaunee, Gasser Associates, Y-12, ORNL, Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant, Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant, and NUS Corporation.
After retiring from nuclear, Tom worked for Rhea County School District for about ten years. He then drove rafting buses for Adventures Unlimited on the Ocoee River for 13 seasons, retiring in 2016.
Tom enjoyed playing guitar, woodworking, writing short stories, researching genealogy, and many other projects.
Tom was preceded in death by parents Earnest Heiskell Robinson and Norma Louise (Rankin), his first wife of 35 years, Janice Sue (Schaefer), stepson Stephen Alan Litwin, brother Kenneth Eugene Robinson, and sister Linda May Montez. He is survived by Diana Green, his loving life partner of 16 years, son Erik Robinson of Knoxville, grandson Tristan (DeAnn) Robinson and great granddaughter Adalie of Dayton, brothers, David Lee and Roy Joseph of Dayton, Charles Alan of South Pittsburg, Earnest Heiskell, Jr. (Helen) of Spring City, sister Shirley (John) Alderman of Dayton, brother in law Dennis (Kathy) Schaefer of Jeffersonville, NY
A memorial service in Tom's honor will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the First Church of Dayton at 4:30 PM in Dayton, TN.
