William “Billy” Brake, age 80, of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at Spring Meadows Healthcare Center.
Billy was born March 30, 1939, in Montgomery County, TN, to the late Vernon Samuel Brake, Sr. and Louise Zirbel Brake. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jayne Weakley Brake; one son, Keith Brake; two sisters, Frances Elizabeth Haley and Ramona James; and two brothers, James Foster Brake and Chester Lewis Brake.
He was the owner of Brake’s General Repair. Mr. Brake was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County and a member of Hilldale Baptist Church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, November 1, at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Lannom officiating. Burial will follow at Stewart-Rinehart Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, October 31, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and Friday, November 1, from 12:00 PM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
Billy is survived by his son, Barry (Sheila) Brake of Clarksville; four grandchildren, Dustin (Lindsay) Brake, Brittney (Chris) Schoessel, Barbara Jean Brake, and Bryan (Abbey) Brake; five great grandchildren, Wyatt Brake, Waylon Brake, Emerson Schoessel, Jaxson Schoessel, and Raegan Schoessel; brother, Sam (Carol) Brake; two sisters, Virginia Harrison and Davona Nanney, both of Clarksville; and two sisters-in-law, Virginia Rittenberry and Linda Balthrop.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Brake, Bryan Brake, Chris Schossel, Marty Wright, Ricky James, Ron Sherer, Gary Binkley, and Marty Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Buford James, Cecil James, Terry Jeanette, and Steve Williams.
