To Ms Betty: I send my condolence, love, and prayers to you and the entire family for your loss. While station at Fort Campbell with him nearly three decades ago I can still say that Mr. (MSG) Van was my mentor, friend and I respected him to the highest. He did say what he wanted you to know - straight forward and I honored that realism. Yes, I will miss him too. MSG Van will remain in my mind and heart - a strong man, a friend, a true soldier. GLO

I am so very sad to hear of the loss of Bob, dear Betty and family. May God richly bless you with the peace that passes all understanding and hold you in the palm of His hand.

Bob befriended me when I joined Stateline Bass Club and always had a smile on his face running the sports dept at Walmart. Godspeed Bob.

My sincere condolences to Betty, Carrie & Kim. You three were the women in his life (even though he joked about being surrounded by women in the house). I'm glad that I was able to see him just last week and still joking about life.
