Walt (First Sergeant) has always been a part of my memory of being assigned to B Company 801st Maintenance, 77-78. He invited me to his house several times and to spend time with his family. Memories of Walt building his chimney, Vick playing bagpipes marching down Dirt Road, and Walt taking in a Black retriever that constantly got into the neighbors chickens. After my retirement in 1995, I brought my family by to meet Walt and his family. Walt may be gone but he lives in my memories forever.

So sorry for your loss of Walter. I very much enjoyed meeting and sharing a little time with Walt during the building of Mike's house. Your families will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I have been Walt's neighbor and friend for 23 years. Walt was always a helpful neighbor, a generous gardener, and a kind friend to me and my deceased husband, Richard. He defended what was right and furiously rose up against wrong. He was an honest man; a special person. I will miss seeing him on that front porch for a long time.
May God bless Brunie, Mike, and all the family and neighbors as we adjust to life without Walt.
